3 Days Pamukkale Antalya Tour
Pamukkale, meaning “cotton castle,” is famous for its white pools of hot spring water formed by calcium-rich underground rivers. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has been a healing center throughout history, attracting visitors to its petrified waterfalls and basins filled with hot spring waters. Hierapolis, a Greco-Roman city built next to Pamukkale, also benefited from its healing waters and served as a trade center known for textiles. It holds significance for both Jewish and Christian communities, with the tomb of Philip the Apostle and the Martyrdom of St. Philip located there. Today, visitors can explore the remains of Hierapolis and swim in the healing waters of the Antique Pool, also known as Cleopatra’s Pool.
Antalya, the largest international sea resort in Turkey, is the third most visited city in the country. Founded by the Greeks in 150 BC and named after Pergamon King Attalos II, Antalya played a significant role during the Byzantine Empire. Its old city, Kaleici, is characterized by narrow streets lined with Ottoman-era houses. Exploring the city reveals numerous historic landmarks, including Hadrian’s Gate, the Clock Tower, the Ancient Harbor, the Fluted Minaret, the City Walls, and the Duden Waterfall.
