Pamukkale Information: Pamukkale is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with stunning white cascades formed by hot spring waters from 17 different sources. While swimming is not allowed in the knee-deep terraces, you can enjoy Cleopatra’s Pool, filled with Pamukkale’s waters and antique columns from Hierapolis Antique City.
Hierapolis Antique City Information: Hierapolis, situated next to the healing pool of Pamukkale, was built by Seleucid Kings and had pagan origins. Over time, it became an important Christian city due to the martyrdom of St. Philip and the presence of the Tomb of St. Philip. Hierapolis thrived in arts, philosophy, and trade. Today, you can explore notable attractions such as the Necropolis, Roman Baths, Domitian Gate, Latrina, Oil Factory, Frontinus Street, Agora, Byzantium Gate, Triton Fountain, Cathedral, Apollon Temple, Plutonium, Theater, and the ancient Cleopatra’s Pool.
Aphrodisias Information: Aphrodisias, named after the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite, was renowned for its unique cult image and sculptural school. With a nearby marble quarry, Aphrodisias became famous in the Roman world for its beautifully crafted sculptures. Many of these sculptures can still be admired in Aphrodisias and its museum. The city is also known for its exceptional preservation among ancient sites in Turkey.
Ephesus Information: Ephesus is Turkey’s most renowned ancient site, known for its bustling trade and influential position as a port city. It played a significant role in the ancient world and held great religious importance as an early Christian center and one of the seven churches mentioned in the Book of Revelations. Surrounded by attractions like the Artemis Temple, Virgin Mary’s House, and the Church of Saint John, Ephesus remains a top tourist destination in Turkey.
Priene, Miletus & Didyma Information: Priene, an ancient Greek city and member of the Ionian League, was a spiritually and religiously significant port city with remarkable Hellenic art examples. Miletus, the capital of art, science, and philosophy in the ancient world, produced famous philosophers and was once the largest city in Anatolia. Didyma, not a city but a sanctuary, was known for its Apollon Temple and the oracle that had a significant reputation in ancient times. It served as the cult center for Miletus.
Pergamon Information: Pergamon, the capital of the Kingdom of Pergamon, was a prosperous city with notable features such as a grand library rivaling Alexandria, a hospital, and the Asklepeion spa and medical center founded by Galen, the father of modern medicine. The city housed several temples dedicated to Athena and Zeus and is one of the Seven Churches mentioned in the Book of Revelations. Day 1: Pamukkale and Hierapolis Tour
Upon your arrival at Denizli Airport, we will be there to greet you and accompany you to Pamukkale. Once we arrive, your guide will join you for the Pamukkale & Hierapolis Tour. We’ll explore the fascinating Hierapolis Antique city, where you’ll have the opportunity to see remarkable sites such as the Necropolis, Roman Baths, Domitian Gate, Latrina, Oil Factory, Frontinus Street, Agora, Byzantium Gate, Triton Fountain, Cathedral, Apollon Temple, Plutonium, Theater, and Antique Pool. Afterward, we’ll head to Pamukkale, where you can relax and immerse yourself in the healing waters of the beautiful white pools. If you wish to swim, we can visit Cleopatra’s Pool. Following your free time at the Pamukkale travertines, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Before concluding the tour, we’ll also visit Karahayit to witness the fascinating Red Water Hot Springs. After an exciting day, we’ll drive you to your hotel in Pamukkale for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Aphrodisias Tour (Breakfast)
After a satisfying breakfast, we’ll check out from the hotel and proceed to Aphrodisias. Known for being one of the best-preserved ancient cities in Turkey, Aphrodisias boasts rich marble quarries and a renowned sculpture school that gained fame throughout the Roman Empire. During the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to explore remarkable marble buildings that serve as remnants of this splendid city. Our itinerary includes visits to Sebasteion, Theater, Agora, Tiberius Portico, Hadrian Baths, Bishop Palace, Aphrodite Temple, Odeon, Stadium, and Tetraphylon. Later, you’ll have free time to explore the Aphrodisias museum. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a delightful lunch at a local restaurant before embarking on a drive to Kusadasi, where we’ll spend the night.
Day 3: Ephesus Tour (Breakfast)
Following breakfast, we’ll commence the Ephesus Tour. Our first stop will be at Virgin Mary’s House, a humble stone house nestled in the mountains overlooking Ephesus. It is believed to be the place where Mother Mary spent her final years with St. John before her assumption. Next, we’ll head to the renowned Ephesus Antique City, a bustling harbor city that held great significance in the ancient world. As one of the Seven Churches mentioned in the Book of Revelations, Ephesus is a vital religious center. During our visit, we’ll explore prominent attractions such as the Celsus Library, Agora, Theater, Odeon, Trajan Fountain, Domitianus Temple, and Roman Latrines. After a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll visit the remains of the Artemis Temple, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, albeit in a small remainder. As the tour concludes, we’ll drive you back to Kusadasi, where you’ll spend the night.
Day 4: Priene, Miletos, and Didyma Tour (Breakfast)
After breakfast, we’ll embark on a journey to Priene Antique City. There, we’ll explore the theater, Temple of Athena, Bouleterium, Agora, and the Altar of Zeus and Cybele. Following our visit to Priene, we’ll continue our tour and head to Miletos. In Miletos, you’ll have the opportunity to discover the Delphinium, Nymphanion, the Theater, and the Faustina Baths, immersing ourselves in the historical significance of these ancient sites. We’ll then proceed to Didyma, where we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the magnificent Temple of Apollo. Known as one of the largest temples in the Hellenic world, the Temple of Apollo played a central role in the sanctuary and oracles of Didyma. After a captivating tour, we’ll drive back to Kusadasi, where you’ll spend the night, reflecting on the wonders of the day.
Day 5: Pergamon Tour (Breakfast )
On our final day, we’ll check out of the hotel after breakfast and embark on a journey to Pergamon. This ancient city, also known as Pergamum, served as the capital of the Kingdom of Pergamon. Renowned for its grand library, rivaling the Library of Alexandria, and its healing center known as the Asklepion, Pergamon stood as a powerful city with temples dedicated to Athena and Zeus. During our tour, we’ll visit the Acropolis, Library, Zeus Altar, Asklepion, and Red Basilica, uncovering the multi-layered history that encompasses Anatolian roots, Hellenistic influence, and subsequent Roman and Ottoman legacies. After a fulfilling exploration and a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll drive you to Izmir Airport for your flight back to Istanbul, marking the end of our memorable journey together.
