Byzantine & Ottoman Relics Tour Program
- At 08:30, we will pick you up from your hotel to begin the tour of Istanbul. Our first stop will be Sultan Ahmet Square, the heart of the old city of Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. This square holds immense historical importance and is a must-visit location in Istanbul.
- We will then head to the magnificent Hagia Sophia, a marvel of Greek architecture that was the largest cathedral in the world for a long time. Its history dates back to the time when it was a pagan temple, and now it has become a symbol of many different beliefs and cultures.
- The next highlight of our tour is the beautiful Sultan Ahmet Mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque due to its stunning blue Iznik tiles. Even Pope Benedict XVI visited this mosque when he visited Istanbul in 2006.
- We will then visit the Hippodrome of Constantinople, built in 203 AD, which was used for chariot races and other entertainment. You can see some of its remnants in the Istanbul Archaeological Museum, while The Obelisk of Thutmose III, The Serpent Column, and Walled Obelisk can be seen here.
